Role Overview & Responsibilities

Kingswood Group are pleased to be supporting a growing business in the recruitment of a Document Controller based in Romford.

Working for a supportive company with a healthy team culture, this new position is to work alongside the Project Team and another Document Controller to ensure that all documents are registered, distributed and recorded in an effective and timely manner.

Duties will include:

  • Update system to ensure that complete and accurate details of all contacts and organisations with which the Company has dealings are held
  • Ensure that the requirements of the inhouse system are complied with at all times
  • Set up project documentation as soon as possible
  • Register incoming project design documents
  • Proactively liaise with other document controllers as necessary to prioritise and share the workload
  • Check received documents to ensure that they follow any particular project
  • Record any amended documents where appropriate to signify a new revision, and liaise with issuing organisations as necessary to correct any errors as quickly as possible
  • Liaise with Project/Contract Managers, Design Managers and Surveyors to agree distribution for incoming and outgoing design documents and to agree return status and comments to be issued to external design originators
  • Actively develop own knowledge and capabilities relevant to job role

Key attributes/Previous experience:

  • A good working knowledge of contract administration and approval processes
  • A good knowledge of the types of documents involved in projects
  • Successful track record of document control aspects of projects
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
